Rakesh Bobba
Professor Rakesh Bobba is an Assistant Professor in the School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, Oregon State University. Previously, I was a Research Assistant Professor at the Information Trust Institute, University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign with courtesy appointments in ECE and Computer Science departments. I received my Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Maryland, College Park in 2009. His research interests are in the security of distributed and networked systems. His current research is focused on security of cloud computing systems and cyber-physical systems, including critical infrastructures such as the power grid. He is involved in a number of projects that are addressing cyber-security issues in the power grid. One such project is designing effective and efficient defenses against malicious data modification attacks, leveraging physical properties of the underlying power system. He is a senior research member of the TCIPG research project and a co-PI on multiple industry-led, DOE-sponsored projects in DOE’s Cybersecurity for Energy Delivery Systems (CEDS) program. He received his Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Maryland, College Park in 2009.
